Call for participation. Creative residency in Spain


It is aimed at artists, craftsmen, artisans, makers, creators and tech-savvies interested in and preoccupied by the reinterpretation
of historical values, territory and society through new narratives, spaces and shapes, configurations and patterns. The interdisciplinary and artistic residency programme ensures the temporal and spatial conditions for learning and creation in an exceptional rural environment: Cantavieja, capital of the Maestrazgo region. This town is located on an impressive mountain cliff at 1300m. high, dominating the mountains, and preserves an interesting architectural complex declared a Historic-Artistic Complex. The creative residency will take place between 12 July and 18 July 2021.


The projects that are presented to qualify for this artistic residence must be linked to the heritage, the people and the territory of Cantavieja. The objective is to publicize the heritage wealth of the Maestrazgo Region, and contribute to creating links between people and their heritage through the experience of the projects that are carried out. The list of selected projects will be published on 30 June 2021 on the website of the organiser. These concepts will be further developed and implemented in interdisciplinary teams with the possibility of fusion of similar proposals.
