Professional school students’ visit to the educational workshop
On 29 April, a group of youngsters from the Kallós Zoltán Foundation’s Diaspora College, students at the Răscruci Professional School, visited our grounds in Bonțida. The purpose of the visit was to familiarise them with the rich cultural heritage of their region and to provide practical insight into traditional building crafts.
Beyond exploring the castle grounds, the highlight of the day was the educational workshop, a dynamic learning space set up in the former carriage house. Under the guidance of experienced craftsmen working on the castle’s restoration, students had the opportunity to learn about and try out key trades essential for historic building conservation. They were introduced to traditional joinery, furniture restoration, decorative plasterwork and masonry.
The Transilvania Trust Foundation hopes that this experience was inspiring for the students, opening their eyes to valuable new career paths. We hope that they enjoyed themselves and we trust that in the future we will be able to participate in the practical training of young people.
